Leaving the cobbled-stone streets of Antigua, we climb into the lush Guatemalan Highlands to Lake Atitilan and the colourful Indian market of Chichicastenango. Across the border in Mexico are colonial San Cristobal and the spectacular Mayan ruins of Palenque. Further on into the Yucatan are Merida and the mightiest of all the Mayan ruins - Chichen Itza. Our holiday comes to an end in the resort city of Cancun on the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
