Taveuni

 This lush island off the east coast of Vanua Levu is known for its rainforests which make it a good place to enjoy Fiji's natural beauty. There are some good hiking trails including the Lavena Coastal Walk and the track to Bouma Falls. Taveuni is also a popular destination for bird-watching with over 100 species on the island.
There is excellent diving on Taveuni, especially in the Somosomo Strait where you can see lots of fish and even whales if you are there in November.
